08 God's School of Growth

God has a plan for maturing His children.  He has destined all of us to be perfected in love and to go from glory to glory.  He works maturity into us by sending us through His spiritual schools.  I hope to give you some insight into the schools that you and I have to go through.  The Lord wants to teach us how to serve Him and He wants to prepare us for eternity.   School offers specialized courses within the same area of study such as the many branches of science: biology, microbiology, earth science, etc.  Similarly, God offers varying courses of study in different “schools.”  He starts us out on the basics and we move on to learn the finer points of spiritual subjects such as faith, self-control, and patience.  The Lord has often used the school analogy to help me understand what was happening in my life.  It was easier for me to endure the trials and the final test because I knew I was meeting God’s requirements for a class.  I wanted to graduate so that I could go on to the next school.
